WHERE IN THE WORLD
IS SOLDOTNA?
Soldotna is a town of approximately 4,500 residents, located along the Kenai River on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. The city is centrally located, and is the regional hub for retail and professional services, with top notch healthcare services, a wide variety of shopping and dining amenities, and quality local schools.
The city sits at the intersection of two major regional highways, with easy access to neighboring communities, and a 2.5 hour drive or 25 minute flight to Anchorage. Soldotna enjoys a relatively mild climate, with long daylight hours during the summer months. Winters are generally snowy, but not particularly cold.
Soldotna's location offers access to amazing big nature - from salmon fishing in the Kenai River, to nearly 2 million acres of untouched wilderness in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Well maintained local trail systems provide easy access to cross country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, and snowmachining in the winter, and hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and ATVs during the summer months.
Soldotna has a vibrant local community with many local festivals and community gatherings, free music in the park all summer long, and plenty of opportunities for both adults and youth to stay active and engaged in community organizations.
